The Hunger Games: Overview

Set in a future where the Capitol must select one young man and woman to represent their respective district in a game of life and death, Katniss Everdeen, a 17 year old gal takes the place of her sister and volunteered to be the tribute of District 12 for the annual Hunger Games. The Hunger Games features Katniss, a determined teenager of District 12, who, at an early age understood poverty and responsibility.She gained consciousness in a world where the gap between the capitol and the districts are comparable to heaven and earth. Katniss participates in the Games together with his co-tribute, Peeta and ends up as victors by outsmarting the rules of the Games, and consequently,scarring the Capitol's pride. However, the terror of the Games doesn't end there, Katniss unknowingly ignited a rebellion that stretches all of Panem and threatens everything Katniss loves. Katniss becomes the mockingjay who mocks the Capitol and the symbol for Panem's fight for equality,freedom and higher dignity.
