More than just a Pair of Shoes

As I am making this blog, I have a friend sitting by my side and she gave me the idea to talk about shoes. According to her, shoes are the determinants of one's life status. She said that through the design of the shoes, we can have a guess as to the person's personality. I reflected upon this and I realized she is actually right. Sometimes if we are interested into a person, we tend to take a peek unto his/her shoes to somehow give us an idea what this person is like. Many people might just think shoes are for fashion and protection but if we dig deeper, we can see that shoes are definitely more than that.

The Giraffe Wonder

Giraffes. How I love Giraffes. I remember the day when I was still a child when I was so amazed by the fact that we were going to have a fieldtrip at Silliman Zoo. The thought made me so excited that I thought of seeing tigers, lions, penguins of different colors and my favorite, Giraffes. And when the day came, I was so disappointed to know that only bats, a single snake and 3 alligators were there. It broke my heart.

Music at its Best

In a world where everything is becoming more and more inorganic as the years pass by, the only thing left that remains as pure from its origin is music. Music is an essential part of our lives at present. Almost in everything we do, we need music to set the mood, and create an atmosphere of reality.Everybody loves music may it be pop, classical, rock or even RnB. Regardless of the genre, music is there to keep this world beating alive.

We Need RH Bill

RH Bill, one of the mosy highly controversial issues in the Philippines. Many oppose the implementation of the bill because of the fact that it contradicts our core values as a highly religious nation. However, the Philippines are experiencing tons of social problems right now and one of them is the increasingly bulging population of the country due to unplanned marriage. We need to take risk towards social change. We need to remedy the problems that are continuously affecting millions of Filip[inos at present. We need RH Bill.

Blogging

I must admit, I am new into the world of blogging and I must say, I didn't really appreciate it at first. I thought it was waste of time. Until it became a requirement in my Education 21 class.I started to feel appreciation into blogs because it lets you pour out your views and emotions and reach people all over the world. Through blogs, we can hasten change and transformation. I say, despite all my loading schedules and activities in school, i will really make it a point to blog about my life and what I think it is.

True measure of Fulfillment

I recently had this book as a gift for my 18th birthday and I was really happy because I heard that this book is really inspiring. And indeed, it is. It is just a book, printed with letters and pages and covers, but if you start reading it, it becomes more than just a book, but a friend. It helps us unravel our purpose through a life with God. It introduces us into a 40-day journey towards finding out why we were created. I highly recommend you buy this book, find a partner and together share your journey towards self realization.Trust me, nothing feels more fulfilling than knowing that you exist for a reason, a special reason. God's reason.

The Quest for a Purpose

Of all the questions brewing within the contours of our minds, one very dominant would be on the question of one's life purpose. What is our purpose in life? why were we created in the first place? Now, many philosophers and experts might say that the only way to find your purpose is to intersect your potential and your passion and find alignment. Now I say self centered purpose is nothing but a dead-end. We end up frustrated, empty and unfulfilled holistically. I say, We should all start with God. Start with God simply because He created us, only the Creator knows why He created His creations. Like an inventor, only he can tell what the invention is, how it works and why it was even invented in the first place. Let us all search for our life purpose through a life in the right path. Then the day will come that all the haziness will disappear and right in front of us in full vivid colors, we can see and know our purpose in life. Start a relationship with God, and everything will come easy.

The Teaching Profession

The Silliman University College of Education, is a Center of Excellence for Teacher Education. Now, many people have been discriminating the College of Education and even the teaching profession as an unworthy course in College given the emergence of highly technological courses such as Medical Technology, IT , and Accountancy. They seem to think that only students who are not that intellectually gifted and lazy would indulge into such course. Well, I say that if you take this course, you must have the heart to complete all the requirements, make all the visual aids, study and apply the strategies and methods of teaching as well as accomplish the stressful teaching demonstrations and student teaching. Now, you say it's easy? Think again, teaching is the noblest profession because teachers are the front runners of nation building and social transformation. Without us, all the other professions will cease to exist. So think again, before you say something. The College of Education is the factory of future teachers, teachers who are competent and equipped to mold and reshape the world.

The Hunger Games: Overview

FISH SLIPPERS

"NONSENSE" - the word that came instantly into my mind the moment I laid my eyes into this photo. People right now really do stuffs which are stupid and crazy and nonsense, won't you agree? However, in this world right now where our credit cards and id numbers are more important than individual abilities, sometimes it pays to be different, to be unique, to be even stupid sometimes. This world needs to loosen up the screws that has been rooted by the inevitable blossoming of technology and we need to see people who are creative and ready to make a difference. Sometimes being positively crazy is amazing. Won't you agree?

SHOWTIME TIME! JUGS AND TEDDY

This video featuring Jugs and Teddy, both vocalists of the bands Itchyworms and Rocksteddy, performing thier own version of the Gangnam Style as their performance for the ABS CBN showtime :) All out performance and professionalism is really evident in this performance of Jugs and Teddy. We can really see that they have prepared for this and even had unexpected guests as part of their production like the ever sexy Christine Reyes and the dance-a-lot Bugoy. The madlang people really applauded the performance knowing the fact that they have encapsulated the essence of the music video in a 5-minute performance. The other hosts of Showtime really have something to be nervous about :) Just amazing.

The Last

This video is something worth sharing and pondering upon. It makes us realize that the number of past relationships a person has does not identify him/her as someone who plays around with love and just keeps on collecting broken hearts. These past relationships define us. They mark our development, our growth and our maturity in the world of love. They define us, and when the time comes that we have found the right person, we can say that this is the last. The person we'll grow our hair gray with. everything we have dreamed of  in our lifetime:) The last love.

After the worldwide dance craze "dougie", here came another set of moves that got global attention- OPPA GANGNAM STYLE. This time, let the world dance craze hail all the way from Asia, which proves that Asians will not be defeated in the dance world. This dance popularized by Psy, a korean singer truly got everybody pumping with the beat as if horse riding like there is no tomorrow regardless of race and culture!

Existence of Eyebags : A Reflective Retrospect

Eyebags, such lonely entities. Given the fact  that beauty seems to be one of the primary goals for social acceptance in the modern era, the existence of these hefty bags beneath your eyes often denotes a negative connotation to your complete facial profile that's why we exert so much effort towards its permanent disappearance.Trust me, if I become an eyebag, I'll question my existence too. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul, so what do these bags imply? well, simple. Eyebags are the windows to a sleepy soul. If we are asked why we carry those heavy bags  in a regular acquaintance with a friend in the park, we usually cover up our embarrassment and inferiority through a mechanism I call as the " Busy-mode" mechanism. We usually say, "Oh, I have been staying up late these past few nights due to lots of things to do. I just need sleep because I've been so busy doing this and that", and fortunately it works! Alas!

I inculcated such mentality in the depths of my consciousness for the past 17 years until lately something came up to me like a bolt of lightning in the midst of a sad storm. I came to realize the deception of the mentality. Even if I get enough sleep, these eyebags seem to never leave my face! That's when I began to blame a more fundamental culprit : gravity. The gravitational force of gravity weighs down on all Earthly objects, including your skin. This led me to a hypothesis that the more fat you have within your eyebags (which in turn, I blame on heredity), the more heavy it becomes, subject to the force of gravity, thus,it becomes immensely saggy.

However, it didn't take long before I threw this idea into the garbage can. The validity of such theory I made was negated by a statement by Melanie Grossman, a dermatologist in New York. She said, “As you get older, your fat, like everything else, starts drooping.” Since I am still in my teenage years, why do my eyebags seem to be more prominent and obvious than those people older than me? so the theory deserves to stay in the garbage can.

I am the type of person who never settle for unanswered questions for the reason that it drives me nuts to think a million times why I have a slightly bigger version of eyebags beneath my eyes compared to other human beings. Until one time after I immersed myself into deep thinking, I was enlightened. Why would I deliberately try to conceal something that makes up a part my whole identity? Why would I hate something that makes me even more unique?  Sometimes we are just so caught up in the middle of this world's superficiality that we seek for ultimate beauty. Beauty that is nothing more than an illusion.  We should always embrace the things that make us human: imperfections. Because it is these imperfections that make us perfectly human. Instead of pertaining to eyebags as a negative accessory to our whole facial image, why not ask help from euphemisms?
 In time, we can proudly say, "These eyebags, make my whole eye profile more striking and prominent. And I am proud of them."

WONDERFUL ACCIDENTS


Hello Folks! I go by the name of Hanz Villahermosa and people say I'm weird.Of course, I am weird because I see most things in life in an unusually reverse manner. Weird right?

The title simply reflects that statement.

As mere borrowers of our very existence, we must seek wonderful things in every ugly circumstances and truths that may transpire in the course of our existence because after all, this is the only life we have to cherish. Even in accidents, which create the crossroads and corners which define our journey to life. Accidents that may ignite change to every callous tendencies we have. Accidents that may help us realize our worth in this whole cosmos. Accidents that highlight our uniqueness and thus marks our legacy as a human being. Accidents that at first may be hideous and repulsive, but is truly wonderful by nature and intention.

Oh, such wonderful accidents.

Accidents need not be traumatic and fearsome. Accidents can be equated to unexpected events that emanate the uncertainty of these world. So live your life away from the chains that bind you. Let go of your inhibitions and you'll see that life is truly a wonderful paradise. Everything in this world is WONDERFUL! live wonderfully and you'll grow wonderfully as well!

Expect to expect more from this blog about topics which may not be that weird, but I assure you, are strange yet meaningful. Life is all about how we appreciate everything in it. So I wish with pure sincerity that you'll see appreciation in every creation. Even in accidents. God Speed! Kudos!
